Hi All,
Would anyone know if I am able to cancel my current Sky HD+ contract that I had taken out with Sky? I had it installed 8 days ago and paid £99 (Maybe £69) for the box and now they have a free promo on!
Whats to stop me cancelling and resigning? Or having it put back in in my partners name?
Thank You.

I very much doubt it you must have agreed to some contract0

I must try to find the contract thing they left. I am sure they must have a 14 day cooling off period or something. They are doing FREE install too which I paid for  Dam it! I asked aswel before signing up if they thought there would be any up and coming promo's and was told they ran one a while back so it was doubtful for a good few months.
Anywho.. Good deal for anyone looking to sign up.0 -
Promos are always coming and going, they have to put some sort of start and end date, you've just been unlucky with your timing. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I am considering upgrading from Sky Plus to Sky HD. As an existing customer I can get the box for free but they want to charge me 60 quid standard conection fee.
As a new customer I would get the HD box and connection for free.So much for looking after their loyal customers.
I e mailed them today and got what looks like a standard reply with a number of hyper links. I asked if they would waive the 60 quid connection fee as they would be getting me to extend my contract for at least 12 months.
They have not bothered to respond.
I will now escalete to their retentions department and if need be leave sky, plug in my free view for a few weeks and then rejoin as a new customer.
You would think they would wish to avoid the hassle and hang on to loyal customer0 -

You cannot rejoin as a new customer after a few weeks, I think it is 6m or 12m minimum? No free lunch, and no free laptop

We had an upgrade to HD, unfortunately without a telephone line they couldn't activate it (wasn't prepared to pay another £12/mo telephone cost)
Thus, we cancelled the HD, I'm sure there is a 1-2 week period where you can cancel without charge.0 -

when we wanted sky+ they tried charging us for an upgrade... so said cancel it...
they cancelled it, then the wife signed up for a new package the next day with a salesman in a shopping centre getting free install and box...
sorted
(this was ages ago when you had to pay a rip off amount to upgrade to sky+)0
