Just received a letter from the police (who have been keeping me up-to-date with the process) the two 'ladies' are now in prison! They have each been sentenced to 18 weeks, having pleaded guilty to four charges each, two of theft from the person and two of theft from a shop or stall.

    Very good to hear.

Did you ever hear anything back from Card Factory after you emailed?

Card Factory acknowledged my e mail but I think that was it. And I have popped into there to tell the staff what happened, as they followed the ladies and alerted security and they wouldn't have heard anything had I not told them, which is a shame I think.

If your store is anything like the one in my town it's probably a haven for pursesnatchers, you're crammed in so tight with everyone pushing against you it would probably be easy to slip your hand in someone's bag without them ever noticing. So glad the scum who did this have been sent to prison though, hopefully that'll teach them that they can;t just get away with things like that!

This store is notorious in my town for purse and bag snatchers. I think it is cos it is crowded and always has looooong queues with inattentive staff stuck in a small cramped area.If I ever go in, I go in with less than £1 in my pocket and no bag.

did the store not have any cctv images of them attempting the theft of your purse
Card Factories do not have cctv... they also have a lot of pickpocketing going on ...
