My dictionaries define an epileptic as a person with epilepsy. Therefore my words were quite correct. My apologies if you don't like my correct use of the English language.

!!!!!!, This seems to be quite an issue for you, so to save you from having to hack into other peoples posts to complain about name calling, I'll start a new thread for you. It will be called "Do names hurt?"

With regard to the bus pass, your employer is required to make reasonable alterations to your contract (including adjusting your working hours) to accommodate a disability. I know this doesn't help everyone......

Moving on to the blue badge, if you get a letter from your GP supporting your application for it, would that make a difference?

Not my issue.I used a correct word. BTW I didn't 'hack' into anybody's post, the quoting didn't come out as intended.

You are better off starting a thread of 'Why aren't people allowed to use correct English language'

How would that work then? Many people would argue that they have to pay to get into work; so why should a disabled person be any different?

  • I dont argue with that, but the buss pass is given out to try to ease your burdon. I have to use the buses earlier than when it commences. Also it is alot more expensive when you have to drag all your family round on public transport when they have been used to the luxury of a car.
  • Plently of people have to pay huge amounts to travel to work, my hubby included despite having a disability that does not allow him to drive he does not qualify for a bus pass.

That aside you can access this through the DWP http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/DisabledPeople/Employmentsupport/WorkSchemesAndProgrammes/DG_4000347

They can pay for reasonable adjustments in the workplace. They can also provide a support worker or driver and even taxis for journeys to and from work and for work purposes if you need to travel as part of your job.

People without disablities do not get taxis fully paid for to and from work. Are they discriminated against?

I was often allowed to leave 15 mins early under reasonable adjustments to enable me to catch the bus, to meet the train to then get another bus lol which meant I got home at a more reasonable time. The 15 minutes made the difference of traveling for 1.5 hours or 2.5 hours.

There are many things that can and are done under reasonable adjustments that most folk are not aware of. It just has to be 'reasonable' a less tired employee from traveling on multiple froms of pubic transport each day = more productive and less seizures and less time off recovering from them. Quite reasonable in my employers eyes.

They can walk, cycle or drive. I am not able to any of those safely.
