Alton Towers- Go Summer Vouchers- beware

Options
After finding the 2 for 1 voucher on a bottle of Oasis, my boyfriend and I decided to go down to Alton Towers. So yesterday we filled the car up with more petrol and set off on the 2 hour drive. When we got there, and went up to the desk, the lady calmly said 'You can't use that this week'. (referring to the voucher). I said 'What!?', and was polite with her but she pointed out in the very small print on the back of the label it listed several dates which were exempt from the voucher in July. Infact there were quite a few days. Not such a 'go summer voucher' eh?! I had read the front of the label that said 'vaild until 30/9/07'. So I asked why I couldn't use it and she said 'It's half term.'. I said 'Half term?!' She said 'Yes, In Scotland'.

IN SCOTLAND|!?!?!?!?! We're in ENGLAND. So, we decided that after the 2 hour trip down in the car we'd pay the extra and go in , not wanting to have to turn around and pay the £4 to get out of the park for parking and the practically £20 in petrol for nothing.
I was on a downer after me and my bf (who are students) had to pay £29.50 each, which was £15 extra each (a weeks worth of food!) to get in...

It was packed...... went on 5 rides the whole day. The'd run out of cheese in the mexican resturant so Nachos were without cheese?! I bought a bucket of pick and mix to find they had no lids for the buckets when I got to pay, so I had it wrapped in a carrier bag, unfortunatly we were just about to go on the log flume, hence £5 worth of sweets somehow covered in water due to no lid. Lots of small chavs running around, one ran straight into me, no apology....

Do you think I could say the voucher was misleading in any way, due to the fact it said valid until 30/09/07? The lady said 'Keep it you can use it another day' ....hmmm like i'll be able to afford to go there again!!!!

you could sell it on ebay stating the reason you couldnt use it.Then at least you might get some of your expense back.So long as you include all the dates that are available and are not misleading anyone I dont see why not.
How ridiculous to say its half term in Scotland.Unless it actually says on the ticket that the date you were there is not included ,it is misleading.

Beware individuals who don't bother to look on the other side of the voucher......also.....

BEWARE users who deliberately stick the same post on two boards

Myself and H2B have got some of these vouchers, I looked on the back and it stated the days that were excluded.

My advice......always read the terms and conditions first
