thats what im wondering, my years subs ends at end of may and ill really miss it but £107 is alot of money at the moment. have i read right that if i canx my subs they may offer me 20% off to stay? id love to stay but with being 6 months pregnant and having a 3 year old, ancestry is a luxury and reward at the end of the day i have trouble justifying.A happy wife, and mum to 2 lovely little boys :j0

I am wondering the same thing Chickennbrain as my subscriptionis due to renew shortly, though it won't as have changed my CC. BTW I have a very old version of FTM which gives great print outs and reports, in theory it should not work with Vista but with a few tweeks and a "fix" they supply it does. Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
since this was my first year, does anyone know if i should just pay for another year or if its worth taking a chance and canx and see what offers come up? thanksA happy wife, and mum to 2 lovely little boys :j0

Already had Ancestry subscription but bought the Avanquest deal a couple of months ago (Quidco tracking at £15:)) + I already had an older version of FTM with some of my tree already inputted into it.
Ran the new world edition of FTM and it merged my existing family tree into it.
Tried to activate the six months world subscription using my existing Ancestry user name via the activate option in FTM but wouldn't let me activate, gave a number to ring. Rang Ancestry and the only way they could activate the 'free' 6 months membership was to cancel my current membership on my next payment date and then for me to contact them. Before contacting them after the cancellation date decided to give the activate membership option from FTM a go, after inputting my 'old' Ancestry username, the new 6 month subscription to world activated without any problems.
Hope this makes sense, cracking deal at £50 for 6 months membership to world, even better at £35 if Quidco pays up:)
Now if I can only find a similar deal for my Findmypast with 1911 subscription....0 -
Thanks, this is a great find
My Ancestry subscription ran out a few months ago & I couldn't afford to renew!
I currently have FTM2006 which I'm really happy with. If anyone has upgraded to the 2010 World Edition could you tell me if it's as good & easy to use please?0 -
I installed FTM2010 but couldn't activate the free 6 month subscription using my previous log on details. I rang the 0800 number and a very helpful person manually activated it for me.
At the moment I'm not sure I like the layout of FTM2010 (FTM2006 seems much simpler & clearer!) but perhaps I just need to get used to it
Thanks again for posting this offer.0 -
Thanks for this, I too am having problems activating via the software so will ring Ancestry first thing tomorrow.0

Surprised to see this one still going
Latest offer Ive seen is 50% off the FTM2010 (which apparently does allow importing of ancestry tree including photo gallery)including 6 months world wide subscription on ancestry from avanquest using the promo code FTMWORLD50 The world sub is just that, covers all ancestrys records world wide. The usual price is £99.99 with the code you get £50 off and then more if you go via cash back sites.
http://www.avanquest.com/UK/education/family-tree/
If you buy via TopCashBack then you'll get 30% cashback - through Quidco you get 25% cashback.0 -
FTMWORLD50 code seems to have expired?0
