US Airways flight Manchester to Orlando

Have found flights with change in Philadelphia. Price seems ok but wondering whether it would be better to book these with the airline direct, and online company such as Opodo, or the local Thomas Cook or travel agents if they can do the price. Not really sure which would be best option. Thanks

I like to book with the Airline direct, using a credit card, it means I can log into my dividend miles account and check the flight status, check in online, and also, when booking, I'm pretty sure I get to choose my own seat.

Changing at PHL is rather easy, and quick. You will have to go through immigration, pick up luggage, go through customs, and drop the luggage off at the conveyor belt, and then you can go through to your next flight.

Many thanks, I did have a go at this last night but hit a couple of snags thats why panicing about using agent.
the site would not let me register to be a frequent flyer so I could start to collect miles, also daughter who is 13 is an adult according to the airline and it only gave the the choice of ( -- Doctor Mr Mrs Ms) when booking and I didn`t want to do it wrong. I`ve not been brave enough yet to check this morning to see if flights are still there as want to get these two problems sorted before I log on again. Any ideas? also will there be a charge for using a credit card? Many thanks any advice would be great.

We just returned from the US, flew with US Airways and got a connection in Philly. I dont recall there being a charge to use a credit card.

As for your 13 year old being classed as an adult, if they are male, put MR, if female, MS.

Before I tell you the next bit, let me re-assure you that we have done this many times WITHOUT any problems........ this time we had a nightmare at US immigration with the offical at the desk who was clearly having a very bad day ! Thought we were going to be refused entry to the country

I would price it with all the options first as there is likely to be a significant difference.

I booked United flights with NetFlights as they were £200pp cheaper than booking direct with United. However NetFlights contacted me to say our flights had been changed. The alternative they put us on wasn't suitable and NF refused to put me on the ones I would have preferred, although United were willing to do it. However NF had to make the change as the flights were booked through them.

It took several phone calls and a couple of days of stress before I finally persuaded NF to contact United and change them. If I had booked direct with United it would have all been done on the first phone call.

I had a little hunt around and prices were the same as last night, I booked on US airways uk site and its all done. Did have to ring US Airways with a couple of questions and spoke to a lovely lady and nothing was too much trouble.

Now the hard work starts looking for somewhere to stay.

Thanks all for taking the time to reply and for your advice.
