Pooky, has water therapy been looked into for your DH?

The GP suggested it, 2 physio's said it wouldn't help, the orthopeadic consultant said "it's all in your mind - take up running" (he was very, very helpful)

I tried that when I was a early teenager (about 12/13) but it used to burn my skin. I'll have to look into it again at some point, maybe they do something milder now.

The one he gave me was tingly and uncomfortable to start with, and gave me the flakiest skin I've ever seen. Oh, and I get a nice red chin from it too. I have really sensitive skin (I react to scented products, can't use lots of scented shower gels etc) but I persevered and now I just have a bit of a red chin and uncomfy feeling when I put it on. It wasn't as bad as I expected TBH. Do try the GP,see what they say.

now that is surprising, you'd have thought that exercise which doesn't strain his joints and supports him would be helpful.

At the very least to get his strength back a bit.

OK, have started my mindmap for my essay, but it looks a mess and I probably won't use it and go on about something else.

I know......very fustrating to get passed from pillar to post with good ideas only to have them thrown back at you. His new physio visited on Friday for the first time so hopefully she can get the ball rolling on some more stuff. Luckily he's still got a lot of muscle strength in his legs, it's just the neuro problems that make them collapse after about 20yards.

Sounds like the one I used, my skin went so red at first that it looked worse than it had done with the spots so I stopped using it. It might be worth trying it again, now I'm not as self-concious any more.

I've just had a message back from Dane, I'm viewing the flat the weekend after next. :j
