Pap, I feel that about all the help dad's given sister when he refused to help me. At the end of the day though I've learned my lesson and sister just keeps digging herself into an even deeper hole. If your family can't see that they're making his problems worse, then hopefully when they're the ones struggling to get him to repay them they'll have their LBM.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

oh, gravy, yes on chips - (being a northener!) but not on fish! :rotfl: Can't remember the last trip the chippy........must be well over a year....I don't get fish, I usually get a sausage in batter and then feel ill overnight. The fat from chip shop stuff sets off the pain I get in my shoulder blade etc so I tend to avoid ever going in one. There's one between here and work and I think I've been there twice in the 5 years I've lived here.

Try a different chippy. Many of them use hydrogenated oil, which is chipped from the nether regions of Satan. Some of them use hotter temperatures which means the food doesn't absorb so much when it's cooking.

    Am I a chip-shop expert? No...but my parents are... ;)

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

And are you likewise? What about the kids?

The kids are very good. They stay home most of the time we go food shopping, but dont mither for stuff when they do come with us. I've never been on my own. That sounds really bad, but I dont do much by myself plus he has his staff discount :o

Then you need to train him properly. If it's not on the list, it's not getting in...
