Just telling you what Toyota told us when OH bought a Yaris "MM was unpopular so they dont offer that option anymore" perhaps its yaris only?
Yes im correct, its no longer available on Yaris (petrol)
Also 6-speed may seem better, but it aint, its virtually impossible to know which gear your in, and their too close together (The ratios) and feels like "A knitting needle in elastic bands" I wouldn't buy one.

The only current Yaris it's not available on is the 1.0 petrol but it is available on the 1.33 petrol and the 1.4 diesel. MMT is available on several other models as well.

Just ordered some Aygo's for work, one of which is MMT - so yes, they are still available. Personally I wouldn't have one and prefer a fully automatic gear box to these manual ones with electronic clutch. You tend to drive like a 'learner' at times....

Then again, know a few people that have them and love them..... but if you want a Toyota auto - you've got to go for Avensis/Rav/Land cruisers etc before you get a proper auto box.

I'm going to take a look at the Diahatsu Sirion, Kia Picanto and Rio and Hyundai i10 and i20, all of which I believe have standard automatic.

    .

Good choice list, all of those listed come with either a 5 year or in the case of Kia a 7 year warranty.;)

Interesting thread, my wife has back problems so we have to have an automatic, currently a Scenic with a standard auto and a Smart For2 with a ??? gearbox that can be used manually with no clutch or it can be put into auto mode. The Smart is by far the better gearbox, no fluid flywheel so you do get a lag whilst it changes gear, plus you need to use the hand brake when stopped on a hill.
If you want some fun go to a garage and have a test drive in one. Wish we could get an affordable medium sized car like it.

    "1.33 litre VVT-i petrol

The new 1.33 litre VVT-i petrol engine increases fuel economy by up to 18%, while boosting power by up to 16% compared to the previous engine. It's all thanks to a new super-lightweight engine design and our advanced Stop and Start system, which is specified as standard with the 6-Speed Manual transmission. Alternatively, choose the 6 Speed Multimode transmission with paddle shift for easy gear changes*.

*Stop and Start not available with MultiMode transmission."

which part of this do you not understand?

Add the new Verso to that list !!!

But just to add whatever automatic you go for make sure you have a good test drive in the one you want preferably for a whole day
Have a look at the Fords the power shift box is extremely good I believe
  • Diahatsu Sirion is a Yaris underneath, so they are quite nice for a pudding of a thing lol.

Indeed, but that " pudding " has 5 years warranty, unlike the Yaris.
