Advice me as an International Student for Phone networks
Options
Hello People,
I am a new student traveling to Sunderland on the mid of september.
Actually I was searching the net for normal phone contracts and trying ti know what is available in UK.
Untill I found this greattttt site and found about the topics for cheap phone calls and even free international calls using the free minutes with the phone contract.
Any way, I need your advice people about what network to make a contract with, I noticed that some networks doesn't allow these free numbers and blocks them.
I need to get a contract that I am sure that I could make free international calls all the time when ever I want.
Final question, Is it preferable to get a contract phone, get the mobile from my country and buy a sim or buy pay as you go phones, OR calling from landline phone is better for my case ....!!
.
Note:I am looking for the phone contracts on http://!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So is that good or should I go somewhere else.
Thank you very much people.
I know that you are the one who can help in my situation here knowing that I mostly will need the phone for short period phone calls and international calls.
:sos:
Thnx Again

The problem you will have is your credit rating you will find it near impossible to get a contract phone. But if you got £200 you can goto O2 shop when you arrive and get a contract phone they will put the £200 as a despoit and than 6 months you can get the money back. But it might be better to get an O2 pay as you go simcard to use instead. Or a VOIP account, what country are you from?0

But did you consider that I want free international phone calls, Is it available sing the pay as you go simcard.
Also I noticed that in the ukphoneshop that I can get the mobile and the line for free and only pay for the monthly payment and I will get free minutes {orange phone contract}
So what do you think0 -

Yes you are right.
Welcome to Sunderland btw, I just left the Uni 2 days ago....
To get same kind of advise and a contract just go into The Phone Shop on Chester Road, Sunderland.
Thats where most international students go for best deals.
If you get a contract with T-Mobile, Orange or O2 you will be able to make FREE calls using your inclusive minutes.
You can also get great value phone cards to dial Egypt.
If you are Muslim you will find that the same area (Chester Road) is good for best Halal food shops and Mosque.
Would love to give you more info if required.
Just PM me.
