Hi!
Quick update and question!!
12 days after offer accepted survey done, waiting on mortgage offer, chasing broker daily! Solicitors awaiting mortgage too. EA phoned to say another offer is on the table but they will stick with mine as long as things happen asap!
Is there anything I can do to push things along, apart from contact broker and solicitors regularly?
Also I have done a bit of a search and am I right in thinking if I need to up my offer the easiest way to do this is in cash? My offer is £1500 below asking price, I can go another 2k ish cash (thanks to generous parents that have seen me start to panic a bit now!!). Any more than that and I will have to add to mortgage.0 -
AFAIK the EA has a legal obligation to persue the highest offer on behalf of the bank/bs who own the property. As they are 'sticking with you', I would hazard a guess that the other offer is either the same as yours or less.

The EA did say it was a higher offer, but I am guessing if this was true, cant be that much higher or they would be persuing it. Hopefully they think it is not worth starting all over again for a small amount of money.
Has been on the market quite a while so would hope they just want it sold, and therefore keep with me as I am already well on the way with everthing!0 -
Hi all!
Just thought I would update everyone, I completed on my house today!! 25 (very stressful) days since offer was accepted, its now all done!
Hadnt even exchanged this morning, and was very shocked when solicitors phoned me to say I could complete today if I wanted to!!
Already sorted gas, electricity and water this afternoon, and changed locks! Tomorrow starts the real work, decorating and moving!!!

best of luck with your new house:j0 -
Congratulations, but you paid over the odds for it .... I was looking at a repo last night and the EAs had posted that they'd had an offer of £5 for it ....
All houses should be £5.0 -
