My daughter had a Disney princess room and her carpet was blue.
We just painted the walls a pale pink and then got the stickarounds for the walls. Looked great. We also got her the bedding and curtains.0 -
i got some lovely stick arounds last week in poundland.1 pack had 4 ;large princess and castles stickers and the other pack were to match but smaller,4 sheets, used on the door and toy boxes.dont think the flooring is too much of a problem,my little one has so much you dont see too much of the carpet.i got a large fluffy type cream rug from tk maxx, for about £15.bought lots of little accesories from ebay, clock, mirror, mobile and cushions.HTH0

My daughter had a princess bedroom, what I did was mark the bottom half of the room in large (ish) rectangles and painted each one either pink, purple, yellow and light blue and the top was solid princess pink, i saw it on a home makeover programme and it looked fantastic and was really easy and quick to do.
Fortunately the 'stencil' I used (which was actually a toy trolley) was the perfect size for a mini roller on either side of the box so hardly took any effort atall and if you want you can paint white crosses around each one to look like a patchwork quilt, that way you can tie in the blue carpet and keep it really girly.
Dont do what I did though, I was dumb enough to but the actual disney princess paint! :rotfl:I understand ALOT more than I care to let on

I think blue and pink look good together, especially with a pink rug.
I painted dd's book shelf lilac and then used the stickarounds on it to make a disney princess bookshelf. We've now moved on to butterflies, so I could take the princess stickarounds off and use butterfly ones. It's worked well.0 -
if your looking to paint...
personally id paint the bottom bit of the wall to match up with the carpet then make it like a sky....break it up with clouds, higher up id have fairy princess castles nestled in the clouds, sunshine, rainbows etc...
i hope this idea is coming across as i can see it quite clearly (but am not good at describing! lol)
depends how arty your feeling0 -
Sparkly lilac rather than out and out pink? Still girlie as heck but would tone well with the blue carpet.
Or the sky and clouds idea above - could sponge paint clouds easily enough and get stick on decals if you're not arty for castles - there's bound to be some of those around.
Or under the sea and the Little Mermaid?Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
What about a wallpaper wall mural? You could get one with plenty of blue (sky etc) and it would tie in with the carpet.
We got a princess one for our daughter, it only cost £20, think it was 10 rectangles of paper
We done the surrounding walls pink and added Disney Fairies stickers aroundCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Blue and pink's lovely.
Watch Disney classics, and blue features more than pink.
Why not sit her down to watch Cinderella, then do blue and Gold/Silver?
A cheap mosquito net, dyed in a colour if you want, gives that Princess feeling.
I dangled a ballerina pig, right above her head.
She took piggy when she moved out. I am now left with a sparkly wall that needs sanding before painting. Also many posters of The Libertines, Leeds camping and allsorts fixed with blu tack!
Yes I know I should have updated in eleven years, that's the lesson.
Spend as little as poss because they grow up so fast.
Don't be tempted to paint walls with sparkles. It's Hell to remove.0 -
