Hi all my little girl really wants a princess themed bedroom as she is now into everything pink and glittery the only problem i have is the carpet in her bedroom is blue and i cannot afford to replace it (it was blue when we moved in a few weeks ago) it is a really large room as well so it would cost me a small fortune with everything else.
Can anyone think how i could tie a blue carpet in with a princes bedroom
Thanks for all ideas

Doesn't one of the Disney Princesses wear a blue dress? Cinderella? I'll go check.0

Is it definitely princess? Does she like tinkerbell at all? The tinkerbell bedroom theme tends to be purple, which would sit well with a blue carpet.:starmod:Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1189:starmod:0

Is the carpet dark blue or pale blue?
You could cover most of the floor with a cheap neutral rug.
Blue and pink can complement each other it depends on the shade of blue really.
Paint the room in white paint then you could paint pink a castle on one wall
and stencil princessy things at the top of the other walls.
Make her a bed canopy using net or voile ( I used my wedding veil for DDs room hung on a piece of dowelling. I then painted pink and white stripes around the room and added a pink horizontal stripe, above this was white then I stencilled pink bows at the top of her walls all around the room , it really looked good, and cost very little to do) Sadly she is now 20 and into black and fushiaBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Yes it's Cinderella, and whilst it's mainly pink background stuff there is also blue accessories to go with it.

I am pretty sure with lots of girly, pink ,fluffy stuff she will not care about the carpet colour. Have you thaught of getting a pink girly rug. I know you say its a large room but once everything is done a rug could look quite good! I had a quick look on argos because I know they do a good sized girls rug that would be perfect for a little girl! and a bargain too....

How old is she? Would a couple of cheap rugs on the carpet break up the blueness...for example Ikea and Internationale (and I'm sure other places) do cheap cream rag rugs (about a fiver)...you could even dye them pink for next to nothing.
I have a 3 and a half year old pink princess mad daughter and I find it difficult to comprehend being a tomboy myself - good luck0 -
Still on the Disney Princess theme. This is an American site you'd have to order from.

My DD has a Disney princess decorated bedroom. Lilac paper above the dado rail and a Disney princess one metre high freeze right round the room under the dado rail. Her carpet is dark blue and have to say it doesn't look bad and DD has never mentioned it. No way would I have got a pink carpet, it would've been manky in weeks.:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0

Ikea do some nice children's bits which would make a lovely 'fairytale' themed room. My daughter has some - it's not as OTT as Disney Princesses but still lovely. We also have the wall stickers from Djeco (can get them from Letterbox.com) which are great and SOOO pretty. My DD has the princess themed ones - including the height chart - and my son has the knights and castles theme. These would work really well with a blue carpet as they contain lots of colours.0
