You are NOT a loon. Repeat you are NOT a loon.
Sending big huge positive vibes to you that this other thing comes off but hey, if it doesn't, something else will come up.
If you hated it where you were and have done the sums etc and know you can afford to jump ship & get a better quality of life (i.e. not crying at the end of the day or wanting to leap out of the upstairs window on a Sunday evening) then you've done the right thing for sure.
Big hug. I'm wit ya!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

I don't blame you re: getting ill. I bailed out of a job that was on the verge of giving me a nervous breakdown and I don't regret it for a minute! Even if I did plummet into debt at a rate of knots (but not suggesting that will happen to you - I was just stupid).
Life's too short to be miserable 8 hours a day, 5 days a week if you know you can get something else.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Hey Minnie,
Just wanted to send you some big positive vibes.
I know that no one likes there job but there is a difference between can't be arsed and dreading it every day of your life.
No point in being debt free if you are a nervous wreck honey!!Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -
sendingyou big hugs also..i was in the same position as you nearly drove me to drink...0

MinnieSpender wrote:The sad thing is, I liked the job and most of the people I worked with. It was just this one individual and their constant spite was getting out of hand. But nobody would deal with it which only means storing up trouble for themselves. I did try explaining that, but hey, ho, they were senior to me...
In that case, that is a real real shame and shame on them for not tackling it. Who knows what these last few days will bring then, maybe you can hurl some harsh but extremely funny (to onlookers) remarks at this muppet before you go to bring them down a peg or two. What can they do?Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

We :grouphug: from me. I know what is like to have a "poor working environment". Good luck in what you're doing, and keep smiling - it makes them paranoid."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

You've done the best thing - leaving before the bullying starts may be the easy way out, but believe me, staying would be horrid once it started.
I was bullied by my boss in a previous job, she was jealous of my skills & experience (gained whilst temping when my kids were small!) & that i was getting divorced & had lovely new BF. Was told one day, whilst my mum was having her breast cancer op, that "we all have problems but we don't bring them into work" when I told her that HER boss had told me to finish early to go to the hospital! and that was the very mildest of things that were said over the next 4 months before I told the big boss I was going & that my boss could do my job in my absence (she couldn't, but only me and her knew that & it caused some real problems I can tell you!)
