Powergen
Hi, we are with Age Concern, Powergen for our electricity, we do not have gas where we live, we changed some time ago from MANWEB, all was ok, we pay by direct debit, then on the last account they have stopped charging meter and it is all on what you use, of course, they have put up the cost of the unit.
We rang them and asked why was this, well they said you now pay for what you use, ie if you are not in the house for any length of time, you are not paying a metering charge, could not understand this logic, any ideas, are other companies doing the same thing, thanks oap

I have noticed this and my bill has gone way up, its not fair on us low users as I get my gas and electricity via these and have noticed a massive increase even though my usage was less than previous quaters :-(

Equipower has got to be worth a look - their rate per kWh is the cheapest I've found (in the East anyway).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

I was with Powergen Age Concern, and a blessed relief to move to Equipower/Equigas. The new bill is so simple. No standing charge, no so much for the first hundred kwh's and the rest at higher rate.
Just a cheaper rate, and economy 7 if you want it at 2.89p per kwh.0 -
I am currently with Powergen Age Concern for both gas and electric. Because of massive charges from Powergen, about a couple of weeks ago we started the switching process to change to EBICO.
From others' comments about fair charges, I can't wait!0
