Troll or not it doesn’t do any harm to repeat the solution for cars with jammed throttles.

Get on the brakes immediately and hard as there isn’t a car been built where the engine can overcome a hard application of cold brakes.

Try to brake gently and the brakes will overheat and fade away with predictable unpleasant consequences.

Don't turn it on, it doesn't fire itself up......as well you know.
  • ...or you could use this thing called a clutch to disengage the engine and you can brake normally (will save you some money on brake pads at least).

automatics also have a neutral which is almost always next to drive (just pre-empting people saying "what if i have an automatic")

Finally check the pedal before you set off to make sure it doesn't feel tight, or that the revs don't stay high for two long...
  • Be funny if you had a Prius which suffered from the accelerator issue, and also from brake problems. I guess then you'd be down to using the clutch to regain control of the vehicle... hopefully the engine wont rev up too much that it explodes :D

IMO if you're throttle sticks open you'd be best off just getting out of the car, like our friends from paignton

  • if the throttle sticks aim for a speed camera. that should stop you.
