Three data usage question

Just joined three, but I think I might use more than the 150Mb between topups, and am worried I might get hit with there standard Mb rate.
My questions are,
1) Does three alert you when your data allowence is low/about to expire?
2) The website says if you buy an extra (ie 1 month 1Gb internet) it won't be used until your free allowences are used. Does the 1 month start from when you buy the extra or from when you start using the data for the extra (when your free 150Mb runs out)

I'm not sure if they alert you on the payg free browsing because im on contract with them, but with the monthly add ons you receive messages when your getting close to your limit, they say the limit is 1gb but they usually let you go to around 2gb before they charge you.

The monthly add on will start from the day you bought it.

Can you buy a top up from existing credit as I transferred my existing no and received £10 credit.
