Booking on Air Asia???

Has anyone ever booked on Air Asia? I want to fly from Kuala Lumpur to Bali. Work are paying for the trip to and from Kuala Lumpur but as Bali is an added extra and a bit of a holiday, I have to pay for that. The schedule airlines are all about £250 - £300 on Expedia, but Air Asia offer it if I book direct for £80. It seems too good to be true. Presumably this is their equivalent of RyanAir? Anyone know if it's any good and if I can trust the booking?
Thanks!
Thanks!

yes we've used them long haul (Stansted to KL), international within Asia and domestic too. Very happy with the prices and service - yes probably more like Ryanair than BA but for a flight of a couple of hours who cares? More cash to spend on the holiday itself:D. The aircraft were pretty new, the attendants were helpful and friendly and we had no serious delays.0

I have flown loads of times with them within Asia, imo the best budget airline in the world, had about 20 flights with them and not a single one was delayed.
And they are nothing like Ryanair - Imagine the perfect airline - Then imagine Air Asia.
You might also want to look at Tiger Airways they too are great and Jetstar. The Summer Holiday of a Lifetime0 -
Just booked a flight with them today. Have flown with them a few times before and yes they are a bit like ryanair. Usually the sooner you book the cheaper the price.0

How are they like Ryanair?
No 'hidden charges'
No fees to pay
No check in fees
No ridiculous advertisements throughout the aircraft
No hard sell from the cabin crew
No stupid fanfare when they arrive on time

The booking process is fine although watch out for the charges. They will try to charge you for luggage, on board food/snack and a comfort kit (pillow etc) so pretty similar to Ryanair really in that they charge individually for optional items. They'll then try to get you to pay for selecting a seat then they'll add insurance on. Don't worry there's a button on the right to cancel it.
Finally they'll add a charge (convenience fee they call it) for paying by any other method than Direct Debit.
All in all very much like Ryanair (ignore the poster above) but they'll get you to Bali and back at a price you will know before you press the "Pay" button and have a good reputation to boot.0 -

All you have done there is describe a budget airline. They are a budget airline!!
Nothing like Ryanair - Anyone who has actually flown with them will tell you thatThe Summer Holiday of a Lifetime0 -

As much garbage as saying:No 'hidden charges'
No fees to pay
I've given an accurate (I believe) run through of what the OP will experience if he goes to make a booking. I have flown with both Ryanair and Air Asia several times and both have supplied a satisfactory service. I switch off when Ryanair try to sell me something or play the fanfare and I also prefer Air Asia over them as you seem to, but I don't like to mislead the OP with emotional rhetoric.0
