I've come up with a good way to get Citylink to drop off my Amazon packets, on the day they are coming I leave a note on the door tied to the knocker saying "I give you authority to leave the packet in the wheelie bin", hasn't failed me so far
I know it's advertising your house is empty, but it's easier than to mess around on the phone trying to get it sent elsewhere [I work on an army camp, so it's pretty much impossible to get anything sent to my work address]
There is no way I'm going to drive all the way to Wooton Bassett to collect a packet which contains a £2.99 CD (A nice 80 miles round trip)0 -

maybe, but a few months ago a courier was followed around Edinburgh and all the packets he left in such a way were stolen0 -
Here is the link in case other people want to view it http://www.parcelpal.com/
my main issues with that would be the following:
1. reliability and ease of use
2. i live in a block of flats so it wouldn't be possible
3. i can't use my phone at work during the day
i do like the fact you are trying to do something about it though0 -

You're lucky to get a card. With Citylink the first clue I have that a delivery was attempted is, after a few days passing I check on their website to see what the delay is and find out they tried to deliver several days ago.The other thing that I find with Citylink is that their default position is not to try to leave the parcel with a neighbour, whereas most couriers will do this as a matter of course.
Sometimes when you make a purchase online it isn't stated which courier the seller uses. I've often had to get parcels returned to the sender and then email them to say that if I'd known who they were using I would never have made the purchase in the first place, and either get a refund or redelivery using Royal Mail. For all their faults they're still convenient and fairly reliable.
The worst I had was when I bought concert tickets from Seetickets. They sent them via DX who are a secure couriers (used by The Passport Office, DVLA, etc.) They only deliver during office hours (so that's home ruled out), and to the named person who must present ID (would make delivery to work difficult unless I knew the exact time so I could meet them). Fortunately they have an office near to work so I was able to go at lunchtime but they stated that the day I arranged to collect them was the only day they would be available or they would be returend.0 -
We have had a few probs regarding missed deliveries but i was given this number by the sender and you can speak to someone at the end of this one and they did sort it out for us.

Amazon sent an item out via Citylink last night, and this takes the biscuit, Citylink are trying to say that they tried to deliver at 9:15 this morning and left a note. However I think they are lying because:
1 - They didn't try to visit
2 - No card was left
3 - I was outside the front at the time doing some stuff with my car and at no time did I see a Citylink van go pass.
*grumbles*0 -
was it a saturday guarantee item?0
-
I believe that is what Amazon sent it as, besides if it wasn't a Saturday guarantee the tracker wouldn't say they attempted to deliver it today?0
-
it depends on how their tracking system works
it could have been loaded on a van but they didnt have time to deliver
so they would have to close the track0 -
Citylink suck.
I will not buy an ebay item if they are the courier.
They have never delivered anything to me without a problem.
