stupid admiral insurance...

grrr.. my car insurance is due for renewal at the end of the month, i realised i hadn't changed my address, so I called to change my address. the new house is round the corner from the old one, nothing else has changed, except the car is on the driveway instead of the street now. and she breezily said it would be 'just an additional £13.50' up to renewal..
i was like WHAT??? £13 up to renewal which is in less than 4 weeks time!!! and she said that every time they make a change they charge an admin fee. I pointed out that they didnt need to send any new docs as it is just change of address and she said they send a letter.. £13 for a LETTER.. so i said.. dont bother i'll wait until next week and call to change it on my renewal or set up a new policy.. i am not throwing £13 down the drain for nothing at all!! and now they will have to send out 2 sets of renewal docs as they will send them to the wrong address first and then have to send them again so it will cost THEM money.
she said .. oh but you should have changed it when you moved, which fair enough, i probably should have done and i would have argued about the charge then as well as its unfair where they don't actually need to generate new docs, etc, i used to work for churchill and we didnt charge for change where no news docs were required which seems fair enough to me (maybe different now). if anything the risk has gone down now as its no longer kept on the road. seems stupid they wont wave this ridiculous charge when they will no doubt be trying to hold onto my business in a fortnight... no replies needed... just had to vent!! :mad:
