    The thing is, if you don't pay the £13, and you have an accident in the next couple of weeks (before renewal) they won't pay out, due to your policy details not being correct. In which case, Its going to cost you waaaay more than £13 - so although it's annoying, I'd take the hit rather than take a risk :(

    and there will be the fee for not changing the name on the driving licence, £13 isnt too bad really, i thought £25 was the norm,

    They have to pay for staff, computers, the building, rates, the phone etc :)

    Which should all be factored in to the price of policies.

    everytime ive had a renewal, ive just bought a new policy from an online search (usually the same company) and its cheaper than the renewal, worth trying.
    Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
    current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
    Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)

    new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,000
