phone hacking

Options
my wife recently had her mobile phone hacked, first thing she knew about it was her phone had been cut off.
When she contacted the provider they stated she had been hacked by a 7000 number which had used !!!!!! sites ( no it wasnt my wife on them).
and had racked up a big bill hence as to why they stopped her phone. They have now put a block on premium lines but stated they can only stop 90% of hackers and it could still be hacked.
I'm not quite sure as to where she stands here with her bill, because she has not used the phone, they must have a team that monitors abnormal calls to these sites especially as my wife only uses her phone for work, phoning relatives and friends etc.
Would she be liable for paying a bill that she hasnt used?

Not sure what you mean "hacked by a 7000 number" - someone has been using the phone to dial a number fromm it? The only way thats possible to be physical have the phone at your disposal.

The only way to steal a number is to clone the sim card.

The IMEI number is unique to the handset not the phone number.

To be honest im not sure what thy mean by hacked either, i would get someone more knowledgeable to speak to them to ensure it is defiantly your phone operator not a 3rd party pulling a scam.

It couldnt be a scam because the provider had actually blocked the phone, she had to ring t mobile to get re connected. Thats when they informed her that her phone had been hacked by a 7000**** number, they couldnt even trace where it had come from. I did read recently that hackers can get your infor from your phone via bluetooth.
I'm not sure as to where she stands on paying the bill, because technically she hasnt used it. Surely T mobile must have caught onto the unusual numbers being used, but would they stop it knowing that the account holder would maybe responsible for the bill?
I need some advice asap please

security of the phone is down to the owner , any symbian phone should have an antivirus and firewall installed so I suspect you won't get out of paying

F Secure is the only antivirus for S60 isn't it.

Personally i do not bother with anti-virus on mobiles yet, the risk does not warrant it.
