Upgrading to Sky HD

Currently have Sky+ but we are thinking of getting SKY HD. We already have all the channels (plus £12 discounted for the next six months after a threat to leave).

What is the best deal going at the moment. Is there a way to get out of paying the £10 per month extra for HD channels, or at least get the box/installation on the cheap?

Also if you are already a customer can you still go through Quidco who offer around £50 cashback for Sky HD.

Thanks!

  • How does £0 sound, If you book it online http://www.sky.com/shop/bundles-offers/customer-offers/ your first HD box is free. There is away without paying the £10 subs by saying your TV is not HD ready but then the charge is £49 for the box and £30 fitting and your only left with a couple of HD channels. As for going through Quidco it may be possible to cancel what you have and sign up in your partners name with different bank details and that way your a new customer.
  • One of the HD sales guys in our local shopping centre asked if we were interested in HD - so we said yes but depends on what you can offer us :)

In the end we got them to agree to 25% off our TV Package for the next 6 months (Equivilent of almost £50) and for them to send us a box for £30 that we can install ourselves.
  • I am looking at upgrading to Sky HD. Currently pay 20 quid per month and happy to pay the extra 10 quid for the hD.

Sky are offering HD box for free. Instalation is 60 quid but if I was a new customer I would get it fro for free.

I have just e mailed their escalations dept and asked them to provide me with the same offer as new customer. They would of course be getting an extended contract so its win win for both parties.

Lets see if they want to keep me as a customer and show a bit of loyalty back.

If not I will go elsewhere.
