I am intolerant to Yeast and Dairy (cows, goats, sheeps milk) and am really struggling with meal ideas for breakfast lunch and dinner!!!
I don't want to keep eating the same thing every day.....has anyone got any suggestions?

instead of bread you could still have wraps and chapatis, crisp breads, oatcakes or rice cakes.
Try different makes of soya milk as they vary a lot.
If you say what you are going to miss most I'm sure someone will come up with a substitute. For instance I make a creamy pasta sauce with silken tofu.

Well, we've just had grilled chicken with baked potatoes and salad. Yesterday we had a spicy vegetable stew with chickpeas and chorizo.
Fish and chips
roast dinner
cottage pie
egg and chips
bacon and eggs
spag bol without the cheese
stir fries
veggie curries
dahl
rice dishes
Steak and baked potatoes
soup
stews/casseroles
Breakfast
scrambled eggs, porridge, granola, bacon and baked beans, potaot bread, soda bread, soya yogurt and fruit, smoothies made with soya milk
Basically anything without bread or dairy. Surely it can't be that hard?0 -
For your roast dinner do you go without gravy? I have been to the supermarkets and cannot find a yeast free version.
I used to have cereal with milk but although I am happy to use rice milk/oatly (cannot have soya either:o) in my tea and coffee when I used it in my cereal I was sick:o:o
I used to then have a sarnie for luch with crisps....neither of which I can have now:(, we have spag bol but I am missing my garlic bread. The dinners I can sort of work with but the breakfasts I am struggling with so have been eating 2 boiled eggs every day:rotfl:, for lunch I have wraps so they are my sarnie substitute and I have nuts and olives on the side.
I want to lose weight so the change in diet has been good but I have dropped half a stone in less than a week and i'm not sure if that is very healthy?
I thought about soda bread earlier but when I read the ingredients it contains milk (or at least the one in sainsburys did)0 -

There are lots of things you can eat for breakfast that you don't need to pour milk over.
Why do you need garlic bread with spaghetti bolognese? Surely you don't need pasta and bread?

I'm lactose intolerant so i know how it feels! I have unsweetend soya milk (dont like that apple-y taste you get with sweetend) normally get tescos own which is around 90p (cheaper if you dont mind UHT but it curdles in coffee) Vitalite spread is dairy free and around 80p!
A cheap alternative to dairy is tofu- I buy it from Chinatown (I live in london) because its cheap in the chinese supermarket. I use silken tofu for making creamy desserts, its less than a pound for a pack which easily makes 2 portions. You can get it from big supermarkets as well (either blue dragon or mori-nu brand)
Do you like mexican? I find most recipes can be adapted because the cheese part is easy to leave out! (check the wraps, sometimes they contain lard) Also, if everyone else in your house likes cheese, its easy for them to have it and you not to (My BF loooooooooves cheese so i grate him some and he puts it on his half :-) )
Tomato based pasta dishes are normally dairy free (avoid creamier sauces) and cheap if you use tinned toms, veg, etc. Overall most meals can be adapted with a little trial and error (mash with soya milk and vitalite for example)
In terms of recipes, get down your library (look in the catalogue online first) and check out dairy free cookbooks. I find them a good source of inspiration!

Hi, I tend to follow a lactose free diet due to "tummy troubles"
it really does help alot.
Its abit daunting at first but much easier once you get to know whats what. I looked online at vegan forums alot as vegans obviously don't have anything to do with milk.
I havn't got a particular sweet tooth, but puddings do seem abit tempting when they are out of bounds, so (do check the label), but most supermarket brands of jaffa cakes do not contain milk, nor do borbon biscuits. Odd that its those two but there you goAlso so types of Green and Black chocolate.
I find that rice milk is nicer than soya milk, stuff of the devil IMO
Can't really help with yeast as don't have a problem there. HTH0 -

No soya either is harder. Plamil used to make a milk from pea protein but don't seem to do it any more. You can make a lovely milk from tiger nuts if you can get hold of those.
Could you make your own soda bread with a milk substitute?
Can you eat sourdough?
For breakfast I sometimes have muesli made up with fruit juice (apple, grape or orange)
We sometimes take cold pasties or pasta or cous cous when we lunch away from home or have soup or pancakes made form gram flour at home.

Hi,
I'm lactose and yeast intolerant too but can eat soya. I also have candida in my mouth and lungs-I know TMI-so don't eat sugar either. I use a book called 'Beat Candida Cookbook' by Erica White. It goes a bit further than possibly you need but there are a lot of recipes which may help or which can be tweaked, including several bread recipes.
Try ordering it from the library or you can get it from Amazon.
