BuyMobilePhones.net v T-Mobile

Hi Everyone,

I'm on the lookout for a deal that includes the new Nokia E72.

The BMP.net website is offering the following deal on T-Mobile:

300 mins x-network
300 texts
Unlimited Internet

For 24 months @ £15 per month (+ £20 one off payment for the phone). By my calculations, this equates to £15.83 per month over the 24 month contract.

By contrast, the same deal on the T-Mobile website is £25 per month (phone is free).

Now this is basically £10 cheaper a month and I was wondering if there is any catch I should be aware of, because it just seems too good a bargain.

I have read some posts about this website regarding claiming back rental costs and free gifts etc, but that doesn't apply in this case.

Can anyone shed any light as to how they can offer the exact same deal for £10 a month less?

Not 100% sure but if you are looking for a difference it could be that the deal on bmp has unlimited internet whereas the t-mobile deals have their new "flexible booster". The flexible booster being that you can change every month (I think) from say unlimtied texts to unlimited internet or EU calls etc.

The bmp deal seems to include the net add on without the flexibility to change it - to do that you have to pay £5 more per month (adding flexible booster).

So to get the exact same deal on BMP.net, I'd include the unlimited text "flexible booster" for an additional £5 per month. This would then take me to £20 a month versus £25 a month from T-Mobile. Probably a bit more realistic.

On a side issue, does anyone know if the phone I'd get from BMP.net on the T-Mobile network would be branded/locked to this network, or would that only be the case if I purchased from T-Mobile?

Majority of the time I think you can safely say the deals networks offer on their own sites are worse than if you go via an independent retailer.

Even adding the flexible booster thing you would be better of with bmp - but worth checking if the unlimited internet they supply with the £15 is actually a flexible booster itself - only way to find out is to ask them.

Same for checking locked phones - ask them.

Mostly I think its 3 network phones which come locked, all the other networks seem to supply unlocked phones. Not a guarantee but thats the trend.
