Botched join between flat roof and main roof

Hi,
I have recently had a flat roof recovered.
When the builder came to assess the job, i explained that the main roof was spray-foamed inside, and asked if he wanted to see it. He said no, he said he can see how far it comes down the roof from the outside, where some clips are. It wasnt a problem in his eyes.
Then the contractors came and did the flat roof, no problem, but couldnt 'make good' the join between the flat roof and main roof because of the spray foam. They have made it as water tight as possible, but cant tell me how long it will last. And it looks an eyesore. Basically, the tiles do not lie flat to the roof. The weather will eventually get in.
My question is this; If the boss had looked in the roof, i would have been told that this problem would have arisen, and i would then have decided to replace the main roof (or at least that side) first, before the flat roof. I now have no money left to replace the roof. So should i hold any of their fee back for the flat roof?? How much ?? Until when??
Please help

Personally I'd tell them to do the job they quote for. Point out the fact that you informed them of the construction of the roof so any problems that have arisen are their problems and not yours. Tell them you will not be paying anything until the matter is resolved to your satisfaction.0

Wow that's rough :eek::eek:
Personally you could put a lead tray under the bottom row of tiles, expensive but it will work. However you should get the roofer back to make the job good0 -

They say they cant make the job good without replacing that whole section of the main roof due to the spray foam on the back of the tiles. Hence me being unsure about whether to withhold money or not. These are NFRC registered roofers.0 -

There's some gap between the existing and the new tiles!
What's with the bits of old tiles to the left of the pic?
What's in the gun that the roofer is using?0
