..... Hasn't been a good one so far.
It installed fine, then i rebooted twice after installing graphics drivers and windows updates only to find that my CD drive was dead (not being detected in windows and not ejecting the tray) after booting into windows. I then rebooted only to find that it got stuck at the 'detecting devices' bit on the POST and didn't even pick up the drive (HDD included). After turning the machine off for 30s, i turned it on and every device in my system appeared fine so i booted into my Ubuntu install and the cd drive worked perfectly. I've yet to try booting into windows again (yet more drivers to install
) so i'll see what happens.
I've never seen anything like that before even though i've installed all variations of Windows on hundreds of different types of computers in the past.
Windows 7 - so sophisticated that it can knock out the entire SATA bus on your computer :rotfl:

did a few installs of that myself, but hardly used it. I still prefer XP to 7 at the moment as i only installed 7 last night so i haven't done much tinkering yet.Oh well, back to Vista
the Drives are ok at the moment, but it's something i'll keep an eye on just in case anything happens.0 -
It's not even something that is a fault caused by the operating system as it ocurred during the initial boot sequence prior to any operating files being loaded.
I hope you don't work in testing

I hate to admit it .. but yes.;)
XP is still the most widely used and arguably the most stable version of Windows.
