Problem with computer rebooting and losing cookies

OP - I'm surprised you say you get the same issue with other browsers - other browsers have completely different ways of storing saved passwords
Sorry I meant different in the sense of getting the same problem in both IE6 and IE8. I don't use any other make of browser, but yes getting another browser might be a solution.
I have reduced the number of files downloading/uploading in one go now to see if that stops the computer rebooting
Incidentally that program only lists 4 of the passwords, so it misses most of them such as for this site for example0 -
This may sound obvious, but have you checked that IE hasnt been set to delete all personal data on exit?
(Tools -> Internet Options, Browsing History - Delete history on exit)0 -
No it hasn't. It would delete them every time on switching off if this box was ticked not just on unscheduled rebooting. That is a puzzle as well, why does it sometimes delete all/some/none of the passwords on these unscheduled reboots?0
