Its an add-on which stops java script unless you give it permission, you can temporarily allow, allow forever, or block. You can also change your mind later.
Adblock is quite useful too if you get annoyed by Ads, and I would suggest you look at SpyWareBlaster (passive list that blocks sites in FF and IE, it just needs to be updated each week manually).
Edit: Spywareblaster is a standalone product.

Thanks debit.....managed to get firefox running & can get onto my bank now as another member told me about the router settings .
Where do i get Noscript ?

Some websites are 'infected' Without noscript blocking them youll almost certainly get infected
That said, if you ALLOW everything then youll get infected anyways so 'be savvy'
