Been sorting the paper work out ( long overdue , due to my better half been ill):undecided when i came across these bills from N-power

26/10/07 -04/01/08 used 598 kWh
04/01/08 -24/04/08 used 974 kWh £211.29

24/04/08 -28/08/08 used 818 kWh
28/08/08-24/10/08 used 367 kWh £151.55
NOW THE SHOCKER! :eek:
24/10/08-23/12/08 used 4099 kWh ! in 2 months!!!! £634.88

All the above are estimates they have made for the meter readings
God only knows what they were think i was doing in those 2 months :huh:

Now i know they are going back a fair bit but do you think i can still complain!:(

Ive still £250 outstanding according to the figures above

    Surely the last reading on 23/12/08 is not an estimate?

    It seems to me like it is a classic 'catch up' bill - some estimates follwed by a bill based on a actual meter reading?????

    Your difficulty is that you should read the meter yourself every time it is estimated and call Npower and correct the reading if it is not correct.

    Its deffo an estimate its there on the bill in black and white "Estimate"
    id post a scan of the bill but I'm not sure that's allowed

    just looked through my bills after that date and none of them are anywhere near as high!

    I posted a copy of my bill yesterday - so did someone else. As long as you don't display any identifying information you should be okay. :)

    And what was the reading? It's just to average out your useage in all that time. :)

    spoke to Npower this morning

    turns out they have had ACTUAL meter readings
    but have failed to put them onto the account and didn't use these to calculate the bill!
    they could give me no explanation for this:angry:

    there is one 30/7/08 of 87373 if you look at the bills posted above then the numbers just don't add up

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    from 1/3/09 - 3/2/10 i have used 6848 kWh this is on actual readings
    What would you complain about? These are very old bills and you should have more up to date bills and ones not based on estimates. As long as your latest bill was based on an actual bill there's no problem.
