United airlines

Evening

I wonder if anybody happens to know if United have stopped flying into the UK. I have been searching all their fares and all flights seem to be operated by Continental these days.

Only reason I ask is that I have the annual premium economy option (auto upgrades) but can't use it with continental.

So you thought you'd post this message rather than just visiting the united website and finding out for yourself? Some people really don't deserve the help of the good people on this board!

Flew with them to LA not too long back.

Flying with them again later in the year from New York.

  • This depends where you are searching for flights. Continental recently joined United (and US Airways, BMI, Lufthansa etc etc etc) in the Star Alliance, so there are a number of new codeshare options popping up between these airlines.

United still have multiple daily fight in and out of London Heathrow.

Yes. This is good news for moneysavers because it creates more options for flights.
Don't forget some Virgin flights to the US also have Continental codes.

  • United still fly from Heathrow to Washington DC and Chicago with multiple flights a day, as well as Los Angeles with a daily flight and a daily summer season flight to Denver.

At the moment codeshares bookable through Continental appear to be pricing up a good £15-£20+ cheaper than via United themselves, so a search on a site like Kayak.co.uk will show a raft of Continental flights, even if operated by United. They are just not as keen to price their own flights quite as keenly ;)
