Band two: and a couple of scale points above the three in my role as she has been in the NHS longer (fair enough). I don't know whether domestics should be on a band two or not as I don't know enough about their responsibilities, personally I think we should be band three but of course I would say that!!
If I was still a pharmacy technician I'd be a band four, yet my qualifications are the same level as the ones I use now and I would say I have at least as much responsibility and knowledge required, unless things have changed massively in the role. I know that just sounds like a moan but I actually stopped working there last week anyway, I honestly think Agenda for Change is a joke as it hasn't achieved what it set out to. :huh:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

I disagree.
You don't think it works because it didn't work for you.
I however run a consultancy that represents both the employer and employees in A4C disputes.
There are some individual cases of pure misery, yet these are in the very very small minority.
Generally Agenda for Change has evened out a lot of inequality in pay and conditions in the NHS.
How can person A earn 30K and in the hospital just down the road, earn 20K? They worked for the same trust, same cohort of patients, same hours. How can someone work the weekend shift and one night and be paid more than someone who works 6 full days.
The old system was a joke, "Whitley" was a joke created by old cronies from years ago when then NHS was a different place.

I'm temping with the NHS at Band 4 level and have worked for the NHS perm before at Band 4 also. What really upsets me is I know of someone who is brand new to the NHS & new in post (first payslip received) and she is trying to get her Band 4 job re-graded to a Band 5. Shes only a P.A. & not at director level either. They took me on temp because she couldn't cope with the pressure. And her Manager is supporting her in the re-banding request. I also happen to know shes trying to claim expenses & overtime...What a joke! If she can't cope at Band 4, what the heck is she doing trying to re-grade the job? I've seen her c.v. and admittedly it is very well written but management have already pulled me to one side advising that she is upsetting various people in the PCT. I was very surprised they mentioned that to me actually. She does unfortunately seem to have an attitude problem. I will be extremely upset if she gets this re-banding. If I thought she was brilliant at her job then maybe, but I can't see any outstanding qualities
By the way - pressure. She dosetn't know the meaning of it. This job is a piece of cake - to the point of no challenge, not using brain cells & boring. I've worked in far higher pressured Brand 4 P.A. posts0 -

Do not put words into my mouth: I wasn't even working in the NHS when Agenda for Change started! :rotfl: I wasn't party to my old role in pharmacy being banded a four nor to my last role in physical activity being banded a two, and I didn't attempt to get a regrading.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Hi
Wondered if anyone out there has had a NHS A4C banding review rejected and what if anything can be done about it. I know it says no right of appeal but surely there must be something that can be done if to anyone that knows about my post it's a total joke that this has happened. Background is, was assimilated to one band lower than than my original Whitley Council grade, tried to appeal this via review process and it's been unsuccessful.
Hi did you get an email sent to you last week from Unison re this, I did and it said about the email they had sent to the head honcho complaining about the rebanding process, I am not in till Tuesday but I will send it to you if you want, something in it might helpIf you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of car payments.;)
Everyone is entitled to an opinion whether you think its right or wrong, courtesy costs nothing :cool:0 -
That would be great, thanks. I did contact them and put my name on a list of folk who were not happy. They said they would email me to let me know what was happening but I had a day off, had a huge email which filled up my mailbox and so if they did send anything it probably bounced back! I will call them and ask later in the week but it would be good to have a look at something just now. However as Unison were involved in negotiating the terms of A4C I wonder how far they will take things?0

Well then how on earth can you stateAgenda for Change is a joke
You were not there at the beginning or prior. So you didn't see all the work and pre-comms that went on when it was implemented. All the work that went on prior to the implementation looking at job roles and the new salary bands.
I stick to my original statement, you don't like Agenda for change because it didn't work for you.
