Were the 16 entries in the startup tab in the tools option of ccleaner ?

    Yes.

Think I deleted the other four entries.

Firefox wants me to restart the PC. I will have to leave it for today, kids need to go to bed and I am making mistakes because i've been as this most of the day  .

Thank-you everyone for your help. I will check again tomorrow.

Is IE is set to never dial a connection? (Tools, internet options connections), and check there is nothing in lan settings. Yes All OK

Are you using a hardwired ethernet lead? Yes to one of the Xboxes

Does browsing work eventually? Yes after I have refreshed a few times.

ZA sits between you and the router, it would be the first thing to try. I will uninstall it tomorrow.

    Thank-you
    Shelly

    Have you uninstalled ZA yet?

How is this pc connected to the router?

If it still doesn't work, disable 3rd party add-ons in ie, internet options, advanced.

Do you think it will be ok now or should I go onto uninstall zone alarm?

    Shelly

PS Have you tried cleaning up your C:/? Try and make sure that your recyle bin isnt full and that any temp files are removed

For internet browser try and delete history, cookies, cache, and temp files

RE above. I used easy cleaner should that have taken care of the above?
