I think it depends on the circumstances of the guests. If we gave 'only' 6 weeks notice we would have half the guests not coming! 6 months notice means most will be able to book the day off and make travel arrangements!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
Hi I have told and emailed people so they can put the dates in their diaries. We will be sending out the invites soon for our April wedding. I have sent save the date texts for our wedding party in May. Its good to let people know the date at least. We got married 17th April 2010 !! A wonderful day with my wonderful husband !! :T0

Ditto here! All but about 7 will be travelling a long way to get here. I think my lot in Leicester (an hour away) would be ok with 8 weeks, but OH's lot are 4 hours away. Almost everyone who wants to have a drink will have to book a hotel, so we'll be sending the invites out a good few months before hand.
The wedding is October so I guess it'll probably be May time.Best Moneysaver...Starting my own Business!

we sent save the date cards out last September then the invites went out a couple of weeks ago (10 weeks before) lots of verbal "we're coming" but only 1 written one so far!"Normal is not something to aspire to - it is something to get away from" - Jodie Foster0

I think my wedding invites went out 5 months before. I knew this was early (most guides say 3 months) but the wedding was on a bank holiday weekend, and I knew people would need more time to plan travel and I didn't want to get in the way of people's holiday plans.0

Sorry for delay in replying.
Everyone (well everone who is important) knows when the wedding is - the rest are people i think i "should" invite (but only actually ever see them once or twice a year)
Ive finished making my cards THANK GOD!!!!
Will start sending the out soon
Thanks for the replies0 -
I would work backwards.....start from the date the venue needs final numbers and count back 2 weeks to allow for time chasing up RSVPs. Then count back 6 weeks.
That should do it!It all works out good in the end.If it's not good, it's not the end!0 -
ah that wont work for me - I live in a village in the middle of the sticks, My venue has cost me £10 lol (village hall!) Can't even go by food because we're doing it ourselves in the family lol I think ill send them out at the end of MAch beginning of April
