When do the wedding invites go out? Ive heard everything from a month before to up to 4 months before

Ive made mine myself - well, ive made half of them so far lol Whats my deadline? Wedding is end of June x

I et married on the 26th august, mine are going out within the next 2 weeks as we have loads of people who will need to book time of work, book a hotel as there travelling quite a distance and time to save some pennies.

So the more notice we give the better really.

hello, I'm getting married on June 26th and have also decided to make the invites myself.. it's taking much longer than I expected! I'm about half way through mine, and was planning on sending them in March. I'll hopefully be sending them at the beginning of March if I have time to get them all finished, but will more likely end up being the end of March x

I'm sending mine out start of March (wedding is 11th June). I heard that more than three months is unlucky, but start of March is close enough.

We've told everyone the date before anyway and those travelling in have already asked about accommodation etc.

We got an invitation for a wedding just before christmas and it was a week before the wedding we couldn't make it as it was such late notice so make sure you do send them out early

Tradition is 3months so mine go out over Easter

I have just started to hand my day invites out, I too made my own and am currently just giving them out as and when I see people, the evening invites will go out at the end of the month as will the remaining days ones if I haven't yet caught up with anyone.

I am sending invites out in April for October wedding, as many of our friends work in hospitals, they need as much notice as possible. Plus it gives people a chance to hunt around for cheap hotel rooms (not easy to find around here) and for the day guests a chance to have a think about their menu choices! I don't believe in 'bad luck' thankfully

No ta i would rather just send the invites, save the date magnets just save the date they dont include all the info my guests need to book rooms, arrange local kennels for thier dogs, We have a few vegetarians, nut allergy sufferers, lactose intolerant people too, so we also need to know who is coming so we can sort a menu out.

Also have 2 very poorly boys who will need loads of advance warning to sort their hospital appointments out and arrange extra medication to bring with them.

I would have sent save the dates if we were etting married more than 1 year away though seen as its almost only 7 months away it seems a bit pointless doing everything twice when i can save myself a job.

Plus since we decided to get married and set our date another family member has also decided to get married 10 days after us. Which kind of makes it double the expense for everyone.

We're sending ours soon ish for June but already told everyone the date etc. Depends how big your wedding is really.
