i can confirm this has happened in the granton store when i worked there about 5 years ago(roughly). I am sure they also had one when the dalry store opened and it is usually just advertised through leaflets. I wasnt working that day but the items are usually returns so it could be it is missing an items or something like that and getting refunds will be practically impossible.0 -

Today is Thursday the 19th, next week is Thursday the 26th, did you mean April?
Hayes should be fun (not) that place is carnage at the best of times anyway.0 -

The Gloucester store often has free food on the windowsill after you've gone through the checkout - I remember the first time that I was told to "help myself to as much as I wanted..."
Brilliant idea - everyone loves something for nothing, but for some reason, I've never seen anyone being greedy - they just take what they want/can use.
Will defo have to look out for the car park sales though - they sound amazing!!
the car park sales is where they have alot of the special items which are damaged eg maybe theres no box for it or the packaging is maybe ripped so they put these items together and get rid of them at the car park sales. Usually you get a trolly and just fill it up and you could pay £10 or maybe £20. I might be wrong but they might have food items that are damaged in some way as well, i know they have been at the cirencester store before0 -
I have got to say that I have never heard about anything like this before (must be the male of the species thing :rotfl:)!!!!!
That said, I want to have a go
Does anyone know if the Portsmouth store does anything like this at all?
Thanks
UKDSometimes I wonder...
"why is that frisbee getting bigger?"
...and then it hits me

Just to warn the "male of the species" AKA ukdangerous, go to a few vicious jumble sales first to prepare yourself, and don't forget elbow pads!
Last time I went to one of these things I actually had a Polish (I think) woman snatch something out of my hand! Too many people fighting over something I did not find that good last time (soemtimes have £1 an item - now THAT is good!).What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
