I have never had such a voucher when going through self-scan - I've only ever had them going through the normal checkouts. I think I am missing out on quite a few of these because of this apparent Tesco policy.New PV club member. 3.99kW system. Sainsburys were doing exactly the same thing in the run up to xmas - sounds like Tesco are jumping on the bandwagon and the dishing out of vouchers is totally random.£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

Hi all, Right, let me tell you whats what, I work for Tesco and the recepts that come out the till are just random. Every so often the system will select a few offers and will print out for the customer. You could spend 25p on some bread and you could get a voucher for milk. You could buy a £10 Vodavone top-up and you could get a voucher for T-Mobile. Its all random!
Hope this helps0 -

It is not random, the promotions are targeted according to the kind of items people buy, which are logged against their Clubcard number. Therefore if someone regularly buys bread, they may get the voucher for milk because the two items are both used at breakfast. The concept is known as cross selling.
With regard to the '£x off a £y spend' vouchers, if a customers regular spend averages £30, they may get a voucher enticing them to spend £40 or £50 and so on. It is a form of upselling.
There is nothing that a customer can do to prompt a voucher, but Tesco's allocation of these vouchers is by no means random!Gone ... or have I?0 -
