  • TBH, I have a common misspelling/ typo search for a certain product set up and it came up with over a hundred listings.

This site caught 30, so I think you're better doing it yourself.

This video youtube.com/watch?v=nh9wT7ltUbU Shows how to set up eBay saved searches.

The beginning covers using TypoJoe.com to search eBay for misspellings, you probably just need to watch the last one or two minutes to see how to save an eBay search.

That may be because eBay tries to limit searches to about 100 characters. A misspelling generator site can create searches that are much longer, depending on the keyword or phrase being searched.

So, to get more results, a misspelling site should break searches into two or more, when there are at least 100 characters generated by a search.

A problem with eBay's saved search feature, you only get one e-mail at most per day. By the time you get the e-mail and look at the item, it may already be gone - especially with "Buy It Now" listings.

You can use a site such as Ebuyersedge.com to set up saved eBay searches, that searches often as every five minutes (you choose), immediately sending you an e-mail when a matching item is newly listed.

As far as an example of a misspelling search, "Nintendo" will always give you some results. The last time I checked, I think there were 277. Obviously, just because a listing has main keywords misspelled in the title, does not mean you can get a good deal on the item. It increases your chances of bit though.

Also, "Nintendo" would probably be too broad of a search. So as to filter out results that you don't want, you could narrow your saves search down by eBay category, more keywords, "exclude" words (can't have in the title), listing type (auction or "Buy It Now"), # of bids, current price, etc.

As time goes on, you can look at the listings that the e-mails notify you about, and create a very specific, effective search.

  • Yay, I got my 99p shoes. Clarks leather work shoes, very smart too. If my daughter's reading this they DID only cost me 99p so don't be cross with me! (I've bought a few pairs of shoes in the sales recently).
