And why should I pay £96 for an open off peak return when the same journey by car costs £50 in petrol and I can go when where and how I want, including when I reach my destination, and go doorstep to doorstep. All for the initial outlay of the cost of the car, insurance, tax, mot etc.
These days you get idiots like these...

....Im thinking whether to give up, it just doesnt seem to make financial sense even though the convenience is helpful - I live in a big city where the only thing stopping me is time.....as I live in the suburbs the car shaves off a good 1hr of my commute time.
I would always try and tackle the root cause of commuting misery first, and either move my job closer to home or move my home closer to job. If a car is still required for a commute then something needs to be moved
My car is something that is for use in my free time to visit places at weekends that can't be reached by train, bike or foot.0 -
So funny but I'd always assumed those barriers would have some sort of sensor to stop them coming down on something.tomstickland wrote: »This is funny too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fM17lydBTV4&feature=related0 -
Ever considered a motorbike? Far cheaper to run, less traffic problems, and you dont need to sit next to the great unwashed. I really wish I could fit my ladders and tools on a bike my trip to work and between jobs would take half the time.0
