Germany Internet Access

Next week I am moving out to Berlin for 3 months and will be living in an apartment. I can arrange to get a telephone line installed into the apartment but am trying to find the best way of accessing the internet. I am assuming that dial up will probably be the cheapest and easiest way for the 3 months, but I am having trouble identifying an appropriate ISP that is quite cheap. All I will require it for is things like instant messaging and internet banking. Has anyone got any recommendations?

Thanks

When we pop over to see the family we plug in the laptop to his Mum's phone. We had to buy a new lead and I did the normal setup wizard and Tiscali was the ISP. I cannot tell you how cheap this is (How un MSE!!!) but it certainly worked. Bought the cable at an electrical shop. I am sure that your colleagues over there will help you, but any problems or you need any help with the language or anything else just ask me. We will get the family on to it!!!!
    Gute farht!

Just mentioned this to the OH and he said that the phone connections do NOT take the internet cable. He says we put it in the Fax socket. So might be worth checking that your phone line will also connect to the internet. You probably have both connection sockets as obviously they are just as web based as us in Blighty.
    Good luck,

Thanks for that, think I will have to investigate once I'm out there!
