Chameleon I would still be interested to hear your opinion on what cats/dogs should eat in terms of protein/carb % and whether you feel they should be eating grains and veg naturally?0

I'm not a nutritionist and don't really have an opinion, unless of course an animal is suffering an illness/condition that appears to be diet-related.
I trust the highly skilled and qualified scientists that undertake the research into animal nutrition to work it all out for me“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Points 2 and 3 are highly exaggerated and simply not true in the majority of cases.
Point 1, well.... what else would you expect to test animal food on if not animals?... or perhaps we should use human guinea pigs just to square things up a bit
...but seriously, almost all the commercial petfood producers are owned by one of the large consumer companies such as Procter & Gamble, Colgate Palmolive, Lever Bros etc, all of which test products on animals.
It's almost impossible to escape these products unless you boycott thousands of different foods, household cleaners, laundry etc etc.
Point 4 is debatable. Whilst it can cause problems to those cats who appear intolerant to grain products, it has no affect on many, many others. No different to humans who have different food allergies and intolerances.
I just wondered as you said nothing more when I copied in the report about peredontal disease that lent itself to the point I was making, do you believ this report to be incorrect? I would be intereted to know as it helps me, the average joe blogg0 -

Which report would that be? The paragraph you C&P from somewhere?
Never trust anything you read on the internet... anyone can write anything. Show me a peer reviewed paper and I will read it“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Huh you seemed to have an opinion through out the last two pages. i do not understand how you can refute things I have said and tell me I need to provide evidence.. when i only posted out of friendliness and yet now you havent got an opinion?? Im confused0

The average consumer might not be able to access a peer reveiwed paper and that is why I said your opinion was biased as I was putting the info out there to the average joe like me.
As a consumer we have to base our decisions on what info is available to us, this includes the internet...0 -

You obviously can't read, and you seem intent on provoking an argument. Sorry, but I won't oblige
I will just add though, I've seen many more problems... including obesity, dental decay, CRF and other sometimes serious illnesses... caused by owners feeding "human" food either entirely or as regular treats, than commercial food. Do your studies/reports take this into account?“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Very silly statement to make, your right I cant read very well, but I try my best. I am sorry for my stupidity
I merely asked for your opinion no offence intended0 -
It might be an idea for you to ask the BG to remove all these posts and merge them into your other thread as these are totally non-related to the OP's question about where to buy renal diet for her cat.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

I have asked already and my first reply I intend as to offer an alternative diet for her pet ;-)0
