i was thinking along the lines of the deals done last year with the mazda 2 and the vauxhall corsa etc, anyhting like that going? most of them needed you to be 21 and that was really the only clause.

lol, so i take it you dont actually know if any of the big brands have any deals on their cars at the moment? i am on my third car in two years, all three have been very old, first was a 17 year old fiesta, then a 12 year old escort, now im on a 10 year old mondeo, the first two were written off (without claiming on advice of my broker) as one was damaged beyond repair by attempted theft and the other one was ran off the road by a dangerous driver who fled the crash scene, now this mondeo is just old and has over 150 thousand miles on the clock!!

i would love to get a brand new car but it would have to be worth the effort!! or should i wait until september when i have owned the car a full year and try the scrappage route if it is still in effect?

i am a good insurance risk as i stated i have no write offs to my name. i am in the insurance business and i know a thing or two about how it works and what is or isnt worth claiming for, the two incidents are both what would be classed as non fault and incur no loss of ncb on my part, and both the cars involved werent worth claiming for due to their age value and the amount i paid for them, so it was easier in the long run not to claim at all!!

so yes, i am a good insurance risk. and also it is all legal and above board.

Just because you didn't make insurance claims doesn't mean you won't have to tell any prospective insurer about those 2 incidents - particularly the accident. As you work in the insurance industry, you should understand this, surely?

Thankfully the scrappage scheme ends at the end of this month.
