Help, contract coming to an end with CPW

Hi
I am with CPW and have been for some years on O2
I have been reading some of thread and it seems I would be better going through O2 themselves.
I asked through their loyalty department (CPW) about what they could do on a Nokia N91 (any feedback on this phone would be good).
They have said that they will charge me £175 for the phone. I pay £35 per month and get 250 xnetwork anytime calls and 100 text messages and from what I have read this doesn't sound very good.
My partner is with O2 and they have offered him it for free.
If I ask for my PAK code, can I still have the same number if I go to O2?

Any ideas what I should be looking for and what I should be saying to CPW, any ideas appreciated.
Jules

The offer they have proposed to you isn't good. Charging £175 for the phone itself is ok but you shouldn't have to be paying £35 for O2 250s, at least half price and with double minutes and messages. Thats what everyone else has been offered.

Yes, if you request PAC, you need to ensure you give that to your next provider within 30 days of receivig it and you still be with the same number.

Note: it doesnt work with moving from existing o2 contract to a new o2 contract. If you upgrade phone, its not a problem as no PAC is needed.
  • Thanks
So I should be asking for it for half the price (monthly line rental) ans should be getting more mins and textx. Is there anyone else who is doing that so that I can say thats why I want to move.
If I went to O2 from CPW I wouldn't be upgarding would I? so does that mean I could not keep the number.

The best way to do it is by telling them you are thinking of leaving them and moving elsewhere. That would intimidate them and will invite them to make offers to you, much better deals I mean.

Ideally, you should be getting double minutes and messages given that you are in the process of coming towards the end of your contract. In fact, check out this thread (everyone who has upgraded their o2 contract have pretty much been offered double minutes and messages for half price.

Check this out on what other people here on o2 have been offered

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=74041

So, if I were you, I would expect o2 to give me 500 minutes and 200 texts a month for about £15 per month and with a free phone or maybe a little extra amount depending on handset.
  • I have just rang O2 who have said £30 would give me 400 mins and 150 texts, compared to what I have read some others have said they got I don't know if that is any good.
    Any suggestions?

The absolute mininum (given what that other thread shows) is half price line rental for 500 minutes with 200 texts.

Try call them again, try speaking to at least 5 different people, you will never know what offer you could get. It does work!
