......A lot of people will be asked to have a medical ......
I'm sorry? What are you talking about? This is an OAP bus pass for goodness' sake - not a benefits claim.
An OAP applying for a freedom / bus pass won't need a medical. It's only some of us who quialify under medical reasons.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

No, I understood that - I was merely questioning notrams4me - who stated that a lot of people will be asked to have a medical - and had completely got the wrong end of the stick.0

I applied at local post office to renew my freedom pass on the 21st of January, my husband applied for his to be renewed on the 23rd of January. We tracked online, he received his pass in the post two weeks later but I STILL havnt received mine, on tracking it is only at the first stage, having been accepted but thats all. When I tried to call on the number given no one answers the telephone and no one answers the e-mails either.0

The phone line is an absolute pain. I did eventually get through after spending what seemed like HOURS hanging on..... spoke to an absolutely charming young Australian man, who had not a clue what either I or (more to the point) he was talking about. Just said 'it'll be all right in the end'. Well, in my case it was but can't be more positive I'm afraid. Try calling them on the dot of 9am. Might help.
And today, I received a postcard, addressed to me by name, telling me to 'Renew Your Freedom Pass Now' and informing me that my current pass will expire on 31 March (as if I didn't know). 'We have done our best to ensure our records are up to date' well duckies, your best really isn't good enough, as it arrived on 18 February and it's now 8th March. Bad. Bad. Bad.0 -
OH received his - and laughed. Photo of someone else! No response to his email telling the Freedom Pass people of the error.0

Still no response to his email.
Tried phoning the "helpline". Recorded announcement referred him to the website (useless given his specific problem with having a pass with wrong photo) or he could hold to speak with someone. Immediately the message ends, the call is terminated by them. That happened three times.
Have they made so many mistakes that they can't now cope with the consequences?0 -
I forgot to come back and update but I did receive my pass within 8days...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j
