Help, lost sound to my pc - have spent 2 hrs up to now and fed up. aaaaaah

Dear all,
tried all your suggestions bit to no avail.
Rang the Medion helpline, he talked me through whatever they do re drivers and sounded like he knew what he was talking about. He reckons my sound card isn't working as is sending someone out to replace. Think I am still under warranty so hopefully should be free.
Don't you just love computers till the damned thing go wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
