The situation with the car could be used to bring things to a head. If the reality is that you're going to have to go without a car, then he's going to have to give you lifts everywhere and (more importantly) work together with you on the budgeting so that you can save for a replacement one. Your salaries must be okay if you are servicing combined debts of £55k so maybe this is the sort of bump to the senses that you (or rather he) needs.DFW Nerd 0350
