Try Payplan rather than CCCS, they are usually quicker at getting in touch.

I had this problem. After begging, leading, helping, encouraging, shouting I packed my bags and stood next to the front door. I was absolutely prepared to leave. I always said to him, I didn't mind that he had debts, but the fact that he had his head in the sand and did not want to fix them was the prolem. I was totally comitted to going without, going the full hog to get us out of debt, but would not do it alone.

Anyway...it worked! He totally changed. We now (this was 2 years ago) pontificate about it. He used to profess that he didn't care, and like above, said that I was being negative. He NOW says that he had no hope and could see no way out of it. We are about to become debt free this month. Can't wait. I could not have gone on with his attitude, but ironically this whole mess had made us stronger.

    Hope you work things out.

    To loosely quote david bach

"People who are born to moneysave and worry about finances, what do they do?
They fall in love with someone who is there complete opposite!
And they drive each other crazy!"

    This is so true here

    Real men dont ;)

Good idea though, what you need to do is make this sound good to him, as much as someone loves another person, they always fundamentally think of themselves first

Make it sound like he wants/needs/should/cant afford not to do it

That way i guarantee he'll be more willing

I'm for the hitting with the frying pan.

My ex was the same, just loved to spend money from MY business. Now he's gone I'm a lot happier.

Have you thought about getting your finances separated for a while? Paying half the bills each? That way you're not having to subsidise him.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Current Pay Off Target : £1500
