THey are no longer filling cash machines in the Thames Valley, I have heard from a friend who works for the company that fills the machines. THe first machines to run out are likely to be in Oxford, Reading and High Wycombe.
Apparently their suppliers were getting tired of missed and late payments and put a stop on them.
If I had an account with Barclays I'd think very carefully!
The only thing ive noticed is barclays seem to a have a lack of £10.00 notes in there machines the past few weeks.
I used 6 different machines in a barclays branch the other day and not one of them had £10.00 notes in
This was a very similar story for Natwest too over the past few weeks.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

Same here, no £10 notes in the Barclays machines!
(And actually, it was fairly close to the Thames Valley, as the first post said!)0 -
Anyone got a cashpoint near them with £5 note in them?
They are damn useful. There's one near me from HSBC happily dishes out a fiver if you pop in the amount manuallyCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Im in the north west and ive experienced this issue with a few barclays branches now over the past few weeks.
So i suspect there may be an element of truth or just coincidence in OPs comments.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

The bank is not running out money however there machines are, as there appears to be a dispute between barclays and the company who fills there machinesIm an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

Ironically enough, the two Barclays ATMs at uni give out nice crisp fivers, but you do have to type in the amount. Yesterday, the shop I work in ran out of fivers and almost out of £1 coins, so I had to go to the cash machine and draw out £200 worth of fivers because the bank was closed.
There used to be a lloyds one as well, which didn't give out £20s - just £10 and £5. Everytime it ran out of £10, it used to give you all the money in £5, one time withdrew £100 and got a massive wad of £5 notes from the machine!DEBT OUTSTANDING [14.01.12]: £6,900 / £21,725 (REPAID 68%)0
