I have registered my landline with https://www.jajah.com and registered my mobile number and also my wife's mobile (as the office phone). It now allows me to phone both numbers (and also any other registered Jajah numbers) for free.
See their website for details. I have tested it and it is working (similar to VOIPCHEAP).
Think of the possibilities if you got all your friends and relations to follow suit!:money:
We only have PAYG phones and hate the charges ringing mobiles from land lines.0 -

Have you read this.(No mention of FREE CALLS to mobiles in UK.)
"The JAJAH Free Global Calling Plan applies to land line and mobile calls to and within the United States; Canada; China; Hong Kong; Singapore and Taiwan and it applies to landline calls to and within Australia; UK; Germany; France; Italy and most other European nations. It applies when both call participants are registered JAJAH users. In countries where free phone calls are not available, or if someone is calling a non-JAJAH member, calls are simply subject to JAJAH’s ultra-low rates"
"What’s the JAJAH “Fair Use” Policy ?
The Jajah “Fair Use “ policy asks our users to “play fair” and behave in a manner that best serves our greater calling community. We ask that you limit your free hours to about an hour a day, five hours a week,or about 1.000 minutes per month. If you use it more than that, we ask that you also use some paid JAJAH services such as text messaging (or scheduled calling?) We can only offer the free service if enough people also use some paid services"
I think your find UK Landline to UK Mobile Calls will cost approx 12p.PF.0 -

That's what I thoought but it is still showing free calls to both mobiles. I wonder if it is because I'm still on a trial period but to other mobiles it states approx 12p (cheaper elsewhere) and landlines (unregistered) at 1.5p. Must be a glitch or something!!0 -

Saw in last weeks Sunday paper a new service that started last month called Jajah.com Basically its a Internet phone service but you don't have to download anything or need a VOIP phone or Headset. You just have to sign up @ https://www.jajah.com you don't have to give any bank details and it's amazingly simple to use. Once you sign up with your landline number you just put in the number you want to call and press CALL and your phone will ring and tell you that Jajah is connecting your call and then the other persons phone will ring and hey presto your connected. If the other person is a registered Jajah user then the call cost's nothing! If they are not it cost's just 0.015p per min (less than 2p) and thats the same rates to mobiles at anytime of the day.
I use it to call my friend in Denmark and France and i have saved a small fortune.
There is a fair use policy of 1000 mins per month but thats nearly 17 hours of calls.
See https://www.jajah.com for all T&C's
Spread the word and then everyone will be able to talk for FREE!!!!!:j0 -
Interesting bit about them here http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/07/17/voip_goes_wireless/
Calls from UK Landlines to UK Mobiles cost Euro 0.150 =vat not 0.015.Works out about 11p a minute.
To find out cost of chargeable calls see http://www.jajah.com/info/rates/assistent.aspx
Not very cheap if your Friends are not using it.0
