When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:D

Morning people - hope all well today;)

NOthing much on today - need to go pick up my latest sick note from the doctor and take to work, also have dentist later and then pick up youngest dd from a maths club...exciting.
Both girls seem bug-free again now....dd2 woke up absolutely fine yesterday and dd1 didn't cough last night (well if she did, I didn't wake up:rotfl:).
Ok, list for today:
  • check banking
  • daily scratch
  • packed lunches for girls to school
  • washing is on quickwash
  • washing on radiators/ariers
  • meal from plan tonight - spag bol/chilli - extra will go in freezer
Hoooooray it's Tuesday - youngest at Guides tonight, feet up and Holby for me:beer:
Have a great day everyone:p

Usher children out of the house later to make a snow man
Move some money about as tomorrow should be payday
Find out if my exercise class is on later on - depends on snow chaos I suppose?

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

    Hey Milly!
I was wondering why you had been off work - so sorry to hear that the Crohn's is still playing you up - I remember it was when I posting last year.

I'm doing an MA in Social Work - tough going but I love it! I too have a 4000 word essay due in soon - and I MUST do lots of reading today! Perhaps we can spur each other on? Lots of work today and Holby as a treat tonight!

    Hiya

    Only half-nine, but .............

Changed the electric eating monster of a light fitting in my kitchen for a white cheapy 3-bulb beastie that actually fits low energy lightbulbs.

According to my LX monitor meter the kitchen light cost £18 per month to run - and the new one only £1. I actually live in the kitchen so its the light I use the most so the pennies should roll up every day.

Off to find something productive and MSE to do.

  • Morning everyone
    Today I will:
-swop our telephone for one we have in a box in the attic instead of buying a new one (usual one has v poor sound)
-reusable nappies for wee one all day and lots of breast feeds
-fruit and veg box arrives so will make a meal plan based around that and make up some mini portions for wee one
-going to make a proper list of what we need for staples this month, flour, loo roll etc - so exciting!
-if wee one does sleep today (fingers crossed!) i'll clean out the chicks
    -check banking
-read more of my book for book club
    -washing at 30
-start thinking about what i'd like to grow in veggie patch this year
-will try again to make time to close 2 unused CCs...keep finding better things to do!

    have lovely days everyone
    xx
